LOOKING UNTO JESUS…(Heb. 12:2a)
The theme for this year’s VBS is “Looking Unto Jesus” (Heb. 12.2a).
That our children and youth have very few models to be followed is a true fact. Teachers and parents hope for the good of their children, but often fail to become good models to the children. It is here that Jesus gains relevance as an excellent model to be followed. He is defenitly the example of love, care, sacrifice and obedience to be followed. Therefore, let us look to Him and follow Him. HE IS THE MODEL.
Further,today we live in a world where our so called refuges fail us in times of our struggles. In loneliness and peacelessness, in confusions and turmoils all of us, especially our children strive to search a way out. However, to find solutions, we tend to limit ourselves to worldly options. And often this search ends no where and we get dissapointed. But, if we trust in the Creator, our God, who created us and has got a purpose about our lives, our lives will find meaning amidst our stuggles. He can give us peace. He can steady our lives, for He is a great God - THE REFUGE and STRENGTH. So, let us look to Him in hope.
